While booking your flight ticket to France, you have many options, you can land in Paris, enjoy a few days in the city of love and take the high speed train to Bordeaux. Within 2 hours, you are in the South-West of France, a completely different environment.

Bordeaux and where to stay

The old city of Bordeaux is built up with beautiful historical buildings of Limestone. The current mayor of Bordeaux wanted a clean and safe city, so they washed all facades, and made the city safe again in the last decade. Finding a hotel though Booking.com, is very simple, just pick one in the old city.

Excursion tickets

You can purchase excursion tickets through Tiqets. It is always better to have them in advance, before they are sold out. For museums, you can buy a city pass. It is definitely recommended to book a tour to Pomerol and Saint Emilion. If you are a wine lover, you should be on this tour. It is a full day, and you visit 3 wine estates. Chateau Du Tailhas in Pomerol is one of a kind. The owners are so enthusiastic about their wines, that you will feel the same, once you taste their red wines.

And a visit to the wine museum in Bordeaux is a must ofr what do you think of a wine tasting in Médoc.

Surrounding area of Bordeaux

Other areas to visit are Arcachon, a fantastic place on the coast, and here you find the best Oysters on your plate. It is a 1 hour train drive from Bordeaux, or you rent a car, and drive yourself. And what do you this of paying a visit to Chateau Palmer in Margaux or Médoc and Cuccac-Fort-Médoc, Sauternes with its dessert wines that you need to taste, or Cotes de Blaye. There is so much to see that you get confused.
