It is definitely recommended to book a tour to Pomerol and Saint Emilion. If you are a wine lover, you should be on this tour. It is a full day, and you visit 3 wine estates. Chateau Du Tailhas in Pomerol is one of a kind. The owners are so enthusiastic about their wines, that you will feel the same, once you taste their red wines.

Surrounding area of Bordeaux
Other areas to visit are Arcachon, a fantastic place on the coast, and here you find the best Oysters on your plate. It is a 1 hour train drive from Bordeaux, or you rent a car, and drive yourself. And what do you this of paying a visit to Chateau Palmer in Margaux or Médoc and Cuccac-Fort-Médoc, Sauternes with its dessert wines that you need to taste, or Cotes de Blaye. There is so much to see that you get confused.
