You know that there’s more to the Magic Kingdom than just Mickey Mouse. In fact, Disney World was built on a history of innovation and imagination–one that began with Walt Disney himself.
Walt was born in 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. His father Elias had been an artist who drew cartoons for newspapers before he died when Walt was five years old; his mother Flora worked as a seamstress at home while raising her children alone after her husband died. As a child growing up during World War I (1914-1918), Walt developed an interest in animation through watching silent films at theaters near his home; he later became interested in drawing caricatures of people around him as well as cartoons featuring animals such as mice or ducks because those animals reminded him of pets back home who could talk but didn’t have any lines written for them by their owners yet!
The Magic Kingdom
The Magic Kingdom is home to many of Disney’s most iconic attractions, including Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. As you walk through the park, you’ll see that there are several areas: Main Street U.S.A., Adventureland and Frontierland (which are modeled after old Western towns), Fantasyland (where all your favorite princesses live), Tomorrowland (a futuristic area with rides like Space Mountain) and Liberty Square (an homage to colonial America).

Epcot
Epcot is a theme park at Walt Disney World in Florida, United States. It is dedicated to the celebration of human achievement, namely technological innovation and international culture. The park is divided into two sections: Future World and World Showcase.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. It opened on May 1, 1989 as a theme park that offers visitors a behind-the-scenes look at Hollywood movies and music.
The park features attractions based on the real-life film industry, as well as several rides based on animated films and characters from Disney’s animated features. The park also has live entertainment throughout its lands that include parades, street shows and fireworks displays at night.
The name “Disney’s Hollywood Studios” was originally conceived by Walt Disney himself as he began planning his Florida Project (now known as Walt Disney World). He wanted to create an entertainment complex similar to what he had seen during his travels around California in 1966; one which would combine elements of the film industry with an amusement park for families to enjoy together.[1]
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a theme park at Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. It opened on Earth Day, April 22, 1998 and is the second of four theme parks built at Walt Disney World. The park’s design and attractions are based on the wildlife and natural habitats found in Africa, Asia and Australia.
The park covers 500 acres (200 ha) and has over 2,000 animals representing more than 250 species from around the world living in an area of land that has been re-created to resemble their natural habitats.
There are seven themed areas: Oasis; Discovery Island; Africa; Rafiki’s Planet Watch; Asia; Maharajah Jungle Trek (formerly Camp Minnie-Mickey); Dinoland U.S.A.. There are also several restaurants located throughout this park including Tusker House Restaurant which serves breakfast buffet style along with lunch & dinner buffets as well as Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes which offers Asian cuisine such as sushi rolls & noodles dishes among others
The Water Parks
The water parks at Disney World are a bit different than the other parks. They’re not as large, but they have just as much to offer. The two water parks are Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
Blizzard Beach has an arctic theme to it, while Typhoon Lagoon has an island theme. Both of these parks have rides, attractions, and entertainment that can’t be found anywhere else in Orlando!
Shopping and Dining
There are so many dining options at Disney World and it can be overwhelming to decide where to eat. If you’re looking for something quick, there are several food carts throughout the parks. These include turkey legs, ice cream cones, pretzels and popcorn.
If you’re looking for something more substantial, there are plenty of sit-down restaurants that offer delicious meals at reasonable prices. Some of our favorites include: Be Our Guest Restaurant (Magic Kingdom), Flame Tree Barbecue (Animal Kingdom), Tusker House Restaurant (Animal Kingdom) and Whispering Canyon Cafe (Wilderness Lodge).

From clothing stores like Mouse Gear or World of Disney Store where you can find anything from t-shirts with your favorite characters on them all the way up through collectibles like Vinylmations or Figment plushies – there’s something here for everyone!
Accommodations
There are several different resort options at Disney World, which you can book through Booking.com, each offering a unique experience. The resorts range from value to luxury and include on-site dining and recreation options.
- Value Resorts: All-inclusive resorts that offer basic amenities such as Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, amazing swimming pools with slides and hot tubs. Some of these hotels include transportation to the parks if you are staying at one of these hotels (such as Pop Century).
- Moderate Resorts: These hotels offer more amenities than value resorts but less than deluxe resorts such as transportation to theme parks (except Art of Animation). They also have full kitchens in some rooms or suites so you can save money by cooking your own meals instead of eating out every day!
- Deluxe Resorts: These properties offer all of the bells and whistles including concierge service where someone will help plan activities for you during your stay!
Tips for a Magical Visit
When it comes to planning your trip, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First and foremost, know that Disney World is huge. It’s so big that it can be overwhelming at first glance! To make sure you have the best time possible while still getting everything done, plan ahead.
- Pack light: You don’t need much more than sunscreen and water when visiting Disney World–you’ll be able to buy anything else you need once there (and probably at a lower price).
- Get around using public transportation: Parking at Disney World can cost anywhere between $20-$30 per day! If possible, take advantage of free shuttles or buses instead of driving yourself around; this will save money on parking fees as well as gas costs for long drives around Orlando’s many highways (which may also incur tolls).
